The CEOI is funding technology developments for future EO programmes:

• Five new technology projects announced (March 2009)
• Millimetre and sub-millimetre radiometry for passive microwave sounding of the atmosphere (Led by STFC/RAL with Astrium) 
• Spectrometers and detectors for UV/Visible/NIR tropospheric composition determination (Led by University of Leicester with SSTL and Astrium)
• Hollow Waveguide Technologies for LIDAR applications (led by QinetiQ with UCL and the CTCD)
• Laser Heterodyne Spectrometer for atmospheric trace gas measurements (led by STFC/RAL with Astrium)

• Imaging LIDAR (led by MSSL/UCL with Lidar Technologies)
• Multi-spectral Canopy Lidar (led by University of Edinburgh with Selex)
• Grism Technologies (led by SSTL Ltd with University of Leicester)
